How do you transport your board to the beach ? Well in an ideal world, you stick the board under your arm, open the back door of your house and you’re on the beach !! Unfortunately this usually isn’t the case and a trip to the surf involves some mode of transportation, a car in most cases probably. So back to the original question, how do you safely transport your surf board. Well you have a few different options, depending on your budget, board size and size of car.

If you are new to surfing and want to buy yourself a surfboard, you have a couple of different options. You can either go with a soft surfboard (also know as a ‘foamy’ board ) or a ‘pop-out’ board. You can of course buy other types of boards but these are generally more suited to more experienced surfers.
A soft board, is just as its name suggests, a surfboard which is made foam and thus quite soft. These are the boards that most surf schools use due to the fact they are made of foam and so very buoyant (this makes them easier to catch waves with), and as they are soft there is less chance of injury with them.

Don’t you just hate it when you plan to go surfing and theres no surf !!!! This is more appropiate to those of us who don’t live close to a beach with near perfect weather and surf conditions all year round, damn you, damn you all ! lol. Instead the nearest surf spot is 1.5hrs away in the car and theres no guarantee there will be decent surf there anyway.

For those that don’t understand the title, these are the two different ways to stand on a surf board. Regular is when you are standing with your left foot infront of your right, and goofy is the other way around so your right foot is futher forward.
